Editor's Note: Each practice during fall camp, UNCBears.com will sit down with one of the seniors on the team and take a look at the Northern Colorado football team through their eyes. Saturday was the team's first of seven two-a-days and after the conclusion of the second practice, senior safety Timi Niweigha chatted with UNCBears.com.
UNC: What do you see as three main reasons fans should come to your games this year?
Niweigha: This is a big season, this is the third year. We want to do big things, change around the program. We ended well last year and are going to start well this year. The fans are going to have a lot to see.
UNC: Is there one thing you want to say to the naysayers of UNC football?
Niweigha: Stop doubting, come to the games and watch for yourself.
UNC: Who do you think is the up-and-comer at the defensive back position?
Niweigha: I think Courtney (Hall). He's not really an up-and-comer but he's going to have a big season this year. His name's already out there.
UNC: What's the best stadium you've played at away from Nottingham?
Niweigha: It has to be Utah (Rice Eccles Stadium). It was my first game at this level and all the fans, I've never seen anything like that.
UNC: Of all your current coaches, who would you most like to face 1-on-1 from back in their playing days?
Niweigha: I'd have to say Coach Collins just because of how he talks.
UNC: Why did you choose UNC?
Niweigha: It was a real late decision, but I saw Coach Armour at my high school. My old coach introduced us and it just went on from there.
UNC: If there was one world issue/social cause you could help increase awareness of/help end, what would it be?
Niweigha: Type II Diabetes. My dad has it.
UNC: If you could play any of the other sports at UNC, which would it be?
Niweigha: I'd play soccer, just because I played it growing up.
UNC: You've achieved a lot so far in your life. Which accomplishment are you most proud of?
Niweigha: I'm most proud of coming here. I'm the first one in my family to get a college scholarship.
UNC: What song do you find stuck in your head these days?
Niweigha: Right now it's "Shabba" by A$AP Ferg.
UNC: If you could interview any star, who would it be and what would you want to find out?
Niweigha: Dead or alive? I'd say Tupac then and I'd ask him 'Who shot you?'
UNC: What's the best place in the world you've visited?
Niweigha: The two trips I took to Florida to Disney World for football as a peewee. It was a whole week with no school, playing football and going to amusement parks.
UNC: If you could be on any reality TV show, which would you choose and why?
Niweigha: There's an old one that was called I Love Money and I'd be on that because I love money.
UNC: Now we're going to ask you some fun questions about your teammates… Who is the best singer on the team?
Niweigha: [RB] Rob [Holland] thinks he's the best. He's singing all the time.
UNC: Who does the best Coach Collins imitation?
Niweigha: I'd have to say Rob with that too.
UNC: Who's the comedian of the group?
Niweigha: To me, Courtney [Hall] is the funniest, just the stuff he says {shaking his head}…
UNC: Who's the most likely to get on another teammate when they're not living up to their potential?
Niweigha: I'd say Courtney again. When a DB makes a mistake, he's always on them.
