Brandon Maguire is in his second season as the Running Backs Coach and fourth at UNC. He spent the previously coached the defensive ends and was an offensive assistant.
Under the tollage of Maguire, UNC's running backs turned in the programs best performance in a Division I game when they totaled 289 yards against Southern Utah. It was the first time in the program's DI history that a pair of backs went over 100 yards as well as Milo Hall had 128 yards and Trae Riek added in 118.Â
While working with the defensive ends he helped coach Kiefer Morris to a third team All-Big Sky honors when he totaled 9.0 sacks to rank second in the Big Sky.
Maguire came to Northern Colorado from Montana Tech where he spent a season as the Tight Ends and Running Backs Coach. While at Tech, Maguire coached second team All-Conference running back Pat Hansen. Hansen broke the school's career rushing mark during Maguire's tenure. Prior to Tech he was at Langston University in Oklahoma where he was the Tight Ends and H-Backs Coach.  The Langston Lions finished 6-4 that season winning the Central States Conference Championship. Maguire coached first team All-Conference tight end Tommy Jones at Langston.

Before Langston, Maguire assisted with the offense for two season at the University of Montana when recovering from shoulder surgeries. He also played wide receiver for the Griz for four seasons before entering the coaching ranks. Maguire was part of the 2009 and 2011 Big Sky Championship squads. The 2009 team was also the FCS championship runner-up.

A native of Olympia, Washington, Maguire graduated from Montana with a degree in Sociology, specializing in Criminology. He graduated with his Master's degree in Sport Coaching from the University of Northern Colorado.
