Justin Oliver, former All-American and four-time NCAA qualifier joined UNC Wrestling as the program's new Assistant Coach on July 1, 2022.

"We are very excited to welcome Justin and his fiancé to Greeley," Nickerson said. "Justin brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program and will make an immediate impact in many areas from on the mat performance to recruiting and beyond. We cannot wait to get him on campus!"

Oliver comes to Greeley after spending last season in East Lansing, Michigan as a volunteer assistant coach at Michigan State. During the year, he helped lead the Spartans to a 10-4 overall record, with four individual wrestlers earning podium finishes at the Big 10 Championships and five NCAA Championship qualifiers.

Prior to Michigan State, Oliver gained coaching experience in two seasons as an assistant coach at Buffalo. There, he worked primarily with the lower weight classes and was instrumental in assisting four wrestlers to the national tournament and leading one wrestler to win his second consecutive Mid-American Conference title.

In addition to his coaching experience, Oliver boasts impressive accolades on the mat himself. He wrestled at both Central Michigan and North Carolina State where he was an All-American and a four-time NCAA qualifier. At Central Michigan, Oliver finished seventh at the NCAA Championships after coming in as the ninth seed. During the 2018-19 season, at NC State, he finished third at the ACC Championships at 149 pounds.

The Davison, Michigan native tabbed a total of 137 wins during his college career, ended with a 137-35 overall record, and earned two all-conference honors. This experience as both a coach and a wrestler is something that will prove beneficial to the Bears going forward.

Oliver graduated from Central Michigan with a bachelor's degree in Organizational Management in 2018. He then went on to earn a graduate certificate in Statistical Analytics from NC State in 2019.
