Northern Colorado head wrestling coach Troy Nickerson has announced the addition of Brock Mauller as assistant wrestling coach for the Bear program.
Mauller put together an impressive career as an athlete at the University of Missouri before joining the staff at Northern Colorado. For the Tigers, Mauller was a three-time NCAA All-American, five-time NCAA Qualifier, and three-time MAC Champion.
Mauller became the 30th Tiger to join the 100-Win Club and finished his career tied for 12th all-time in program history with 118 wins, matching Daniel Lewis. Mauller ended his collegiate career with a record of 118-19.
Beginning his wrestling career at Father Tolton High School in Columbia, Mo., Mauller was a four-time Missouri State Champion and ranked No. 8 at 145 lbs. Mauller also claimed three All-America honors, two at the Junior Freestyle Nationals and one at Super 32. He ended high school with a 180-2 record.
“Brock was an obvious choice to add to our coaching staff,” Nickerson said. “His pedigree is elite and his commitment to helping student-athletes reach their goals will provide an immediate impact on our guys.”
Over the past 10 years, Mauller has seen immense success at every level of the sport and now joins the Bears staff in his first official coaching role of his career.
