David Tottori joined the UNC Golf staff as an assistant coach in October of 2021.
Tottori came to Greeley from his alma matter Saint Francis (NY) where he was an assistant coach for the 2019-20 season. As the assistant coach, he worked in all areas with the women’s golf team. He oversaw the team’s training and helped recruit prospective student-athletes to the program.
In the 2021-22 season, Tottori helped both the men's and women's golf programs to success. He assisted in leading the men's team to a second place finish in the Big Sky Championship. Two separate men's golfers also secured individual wins and Big Sky Player of the Week Honors with Tottori's help, in Jack Castiglia and TJ Shehee. For women's golf, he led the team to secure a top 6 finish in the Big Sky Championships.
“I am very excited to add David to the coaching staff. He’s going to be a very important part of what we are building here at UNC,” Sikorski said. “I believe David will show he is a great up and coming coach, with a very bright future. During the interview process, I was very impressed by his knowledge, initiative and passion for the game.”
While being an assistant coach for the women’s golf team, Tottori was also a graduate assistant for the Saint Francis Athletic Department, mainly focused on the marketing department.
Tottori played for two seasons at Saint Francis earning team MVP honors in 2017 and 2019. He was a team captain in 2018-19 and earned All-NEC Honor Roll honors in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Before playing at Saint Francis he played at Hawaii-Hilo for two years. At Hilo, he was on the Pacific West Conference Honor Roll both years.
The Las Vegas native earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a minor in Sports Management and his Master’s degree in Business Management, both from Saint Francis.
