Eddie Gonzales serves as the General Manager of the University of Northern Colorado football program, a role he assumed in 2025 after advancing through multiple positions within the Bears’ staff. In his current role, Gonzales oversees the day-to-day operations of the football program, working directly with Head Coach Ed Lamb on all administrative, logistical, financial, and personnel-related matters.
Gonzales is responsible for managing the program’s operating budget and the distribution of its NIL resources, coordinating team travel and scheduling, overseeing equipment purchasing, planning official visits, supervising social media operations, and ensuring compliance with institutional, conference, and NCAA regulations. He also serves as the primary liaison between the football program and campus departments while providing direct support to the head coach and coaching staff.
In addition to his operational responsibilities, Gonzales plays an active role in the program’s recruiting efforts. He assists in the execution of recruiting operations, including organizing official visits, managing recruiting logistics, and supporting roster acquisition efforts both in-state and nationally. He remains involved in football strategy and preparation and serves as the program’s lead analytics coordinator on game day, handling fourth-down decision-making and communicating key analytical information to the offensive staff.
Gonzales joined the UNC coaching staff in 2022 as the Bears’ defensive line coach. He remained with the program in 2023 as a volunteer assistant before earning a graduate assistant role and transitioning into Director of Football Operations. In 2024, he added Chief of Staff responsibilities before being promoted to General Manager prior to the 2025 season.
A University of Northern Colorado alumnus and four-time team captain, Gonzales earned Academic All-Big Sky honors five times during his playing career. A native of the Five Points neighborhood in Denver, Colorado, he earned his bachelor’s degree in business management with a minor in finance, his MBA in general business, and is currently a doctoral candidate in UNC’s Technology, Innovation, and Pedagogy Ph.D. program.
