Jim Crider, Wrestling, 1961-1965Crider wrestled on the varsity team three years, establishing a record of 55-15. He was the first Colorado wrestler to become a three-time All-American wrestler in the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships. He was also a three-time MIWA champion and was the MIWA outstanding wrestler in 1965. Was also a two-time Rocky Mountain Conference Champion in 1964 & 1965.
Reed Doughty, Football, 2002-05Was a consensus All-American in 2005, getting named to the first-team on five different polls. Was also named to the First-Team Sports Network and a Third-Team AP selection in 2004. A three-time Academic All-American pick and the best defensive back in I-AA according to Don Hansen’s Football Gazette as both a junior and senior. Had 21 tackles against Nebraska Omaha in 2002, tied for the seventh-most in a single game in UNC history. His 159 tackles in 2005 is tied for fifth-most and his 14 career interceptions are tied for fifth in school history, while his 466 total tackles rank third. Also had six fumble recoveries, five forced fumbles, two blocked kicks and two sacks. Drafted in the sixth round of the 2006 draft by the Washington Redskins and still plays for the Redskins.
Vincent Jackson, Football/Basketball, 2001-04Drafted in the second round and 61st overall by the San Diego Chargers. Was named to two All-American first-teams and one second-team as a senior, one first-team and four second-teams as a junior and as an honorable mention kick returner in 2001. Still holds the school records in pass receptions (177), receiving yards (3,548), receiving touchdowns (37), all-purpose yards (5,810), punt return yards (1,024), overall touchdowns (39-tied). Is second in kickoff return yards (1,238) and tied in points scored (234). Also a second-team Academic All-American as a senior. Joined the basketball team four games into the season and finished as the team’s leading scorer at 13.6 points per game. He also averaged 5.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists per contest and was fourth on the team with 24 steals in 2003-04 as a sophomore. As a freshman, he averaged 18 points per game on the hardwood.
Joyce Jordahl, Volleyball, 1996-99Was named both an AVCA Second-Team All-American and CoSIDA First-Team Academic All-American in 1999 as a senior. Was also a two-time all-region selection and a four-time All-North Central Conference pick as well as a three-time Academic All-NCAA honoree. Was awarded the Northern Colorado Mary Behling Scholar-Athlete award in 2000 and the UNC Outstanding Female athlete of the year award in 1999.
Sabra Maas, Swimming & Diving, 1993-96At the time of her graduation, held the school record in both the one-meter and three-meter diving events. During her career, she broke school records on 11 occasions and was named an All-American in 1996. She still ranks third on the one-meter platform and sixth on the three-meter in Northern Colorado history. Twice was named the NCC Swimmer/Diver of the Week during her career and was a two-time Academic All-Conference selection. Was also awarded the UNC “Bear Down” award all four years of her career.
Jay Valentine, Track & Field, 1985-89Won the 1988 NCAA Division II Championship in the steeplechase and finished fourth in the event in 1987. Also earned All-American honors during the indoor season, finishing seventh at the NCAA Championships in the 1500 meters. Twice won the North Central Conference title in the steeplechase as well as finishing fourth at the USA National Junior Championships in the steeple. Still holds the Northern Colorado school records in the indoor 1000 meters and outdoor 3000 meter steeplechase as well as being a member of the school-record holding 4x800 meter relay.

Won the Rocky Mountain Conference Championship and finished second in District 7. Advanced to the College World Series after BYU withdrew.

Won the Rocky Mountain Conference Championship and the District 7 Title. Advanced to the College World Series.
