GREELEY, Colo. – The University of Northern Colorado Athletics Department is excited to announce the addition of Maranda Donahue as an Assistant Track and Field/Cross Country Coach. Donahue brings NCAA Division I coaching experience, a strong background in athlete development, and a proven track record of academic and athletic success to the Bears' program.
Donahue joins UNC after serving as an assistant coach at Valparaiso University, where she provided leadership, organization, and supervision for more than 30 student-athletes. In her role with the Beacons, she assisted with daily practice plans, recruiting efforts at both the regional and national level, and monitored academic progress across the program. Donahue was instrumental in developing athletes who earned Missouri Valley Conference All-Conference honors, set seven individual school records and 23 program records, and produced multiple NCAA Division I All-Academic Team honorees.
In addition to her work at Valparaiso, Donahue has also coached privately, specializing in sprints and hurdles. She has designed individualized training programs for youth athletes that emphasize mechanics, speed development, and injury prevention, while fostering a positive and disciplined training environment.
Her commitment to excellence in the classroom has also been evident throughout her career, guiding athletes to prestigious honors including CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-District recognition, MVC State Farm Scholar Athlete Awards, and national academic team accolades.
A 2023 graduate of Valparaiso University, Donahue earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with minors in Human Biology, Sports Management, and Coaching. A former standout at Delton Kellogg High School in Michigan, she continues to build her coaching philosophy around discipline, confidence, and holistic student-athlete development.
