Francia Named Luna’s Taco UNC Student Athlete of the Week

GREELEY, Colo. – Junior Krista Francia has been named the Luna's Taco Student-Athlete of the Week by the Northern Colorado Athletics Department, following her outstanding performance against Montana this past weekend.
A native of Surprise, Arizona, Francia delivered a walk-off, three-run home run to secure the series sweep over the Griz, helping the Bears start their conference season with a perfect 3-0 record. The game was tied 6-6 heading into the final frame, and with two outs and two strikes, the junior stepped up when it mattered most.
Francia finished the weekend with four RBIs and two stolen bases. The shortstop also showcased her defensive prowess, recording eight putouts, 11 assists, and contributing to three double plays.
