PREVIEW: Bears Host Denver Friday Night

GREELEY, Colo. – The Northern Colorado women's (3-0) basketball team continues its early-season home stand this week, closing out a four-game home stretch with a Friday night showdown against in-state opponent Denver (0-3) at Bank of Colorado Arena.
The Bears enter the contest riding a wave of confidence after their dominant 84-52 victory over Bethany College on Tuesday night. Northern Colorado put together a complete performance of the young season, displaying balance on both ends of the floor. Offensively, the Bears moved the ball with purpose, getting contributions from up and down the lineup, while defensively they applied consistent pressure, forcing turnovers and turning defense into transition opportunities.
Friday's match up marks Northern Colorado's fourth consecutive game at home to open the non-conference slate. With a perfect home record so far, UNC is looking to extend that success and maintain its defensive standards.
The Bears' offense has shown promising signs of versatility, with several newcomers and returners making an immediate impact.
Historically, Northern Colorado has had the upper hand in the all-time series, holding a 9-5 advantage. However, the Bears will have revenge on their minds—Denver took the most recent meeting in 2024 with a 64-53 win in Denver.
Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. MT on Friday.
