NEW ORLEANS – Northern Colorado's Men's and Women's Cross Country were honored with All-Academic Team status by the USTFCCCA for their performance in the classroom last fall.
This was the eighth season that both squads have captured All-Academic Team status in the same season, with the women holding a 3.43 GPA and the men finishing the fall with a mark of 3.18. Both teams have earned the academic honor eight times over the last 10 seasons.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.
"Coach Angel and I are thrilled our men's and women's cross country rosters were honored for their hard work in the classroom to receive the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team awards," said Associate Head Cross Country Coach Stormie Sickler, "We emphasize to the team that academics always come before athletics, and they continue to show that through their outstanding GPAs. We are so proud of the excellence these student athletes display while pursuing their goals in higher education and running."
