GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado head women's basketball coach Kristen Mattio has announced the signing of Tiani Abrams.
"Tiani is a perfect addition to our Bear Family! She will flourish in our offensive style of play and give us length and size at the guard position that will allow her to impact both ends of the floor," Mattio said.
Abram's high-basketball IQ stood out to Mattio and the staff.
"Her basketball IQ is tremendous, and she comes from a basketball lineage as her father played collegiately, overseas pro, and is a basketball coach. We are excited to get Tiani on the court! I know Bear fans will really enjoy watching her play!"
Abrams, a Vista, California native, and 6-foot-1 athlete, comes to UNC from Central Florida.
She appeared in 16 games as a freshman and tallied 12 points in her first college game going 4-for-7 from the field and beyond the arc. Shot an impressive 3-for-4 from the field and 2-for-3 in triples against Tennessee (12/14). Recorded a perfect shooting 4-for-4 performance in just five minutes of play against East Carolina (2/4).
Before playing at the collegiate level, Abrams scored over 1,000 career points and is the all-time leading 3-point shooter at Rancho Buena Vista High School. She ranks in the top five in points, rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals. She also helped Rancho Buena Vista to the California Interscholastic Federation's DIII championship game.
She is the daughter of Brandi and Aaron Abrams and has four siblings, Aaron Jr., Bishop, Aaliyah, and Braxton.
