SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Freshman Carolina Fallotico turned in a 73 to lead the Bears during the opening day of the 2023 Big Sky Women's Golf Championship on Monday. The UNC women's golf team currently sits eighth after the first round of competition with a team score of 303.

The Milan, Italy, native recorded four birdies on the day, including three on the front nine.

Louise Dahl was second on the Bears shooting a three-over. She recorded three birdies on the day.

Timbre Shehee turned in a 77 in the first round, while Amy Chitkoksoong finished one stroke behind with a 78.

Marija Jucmane rounded out the first day of competition for the Bears with an 80.

Round two of the championships begins tomorrow at 8 a.m. (MT).
