Melodie Leroudier set her own record in the 5k with a time of 17:08.8 for the fastest time in school history at the Big Sky Cross Country Championships.

The women's cross country team earned a No. 15 ranking in the Mountain Region from USTFCCC in 2021, the highest ranking they have received since 2013.

Leroudier also led women's cross country at the NCAA Pre-Nationals with a top 20 finish.

During the indoor season, UNC's triple jump squad of Qwazon Al-Khaliq, Welre Olivier, Maccee Reed, and Tyler Thimsen reached their highest ranking of second in the NCAA.

Graduate student Qwazon Al-Khaliq broke the school record in both indoor and outdoor triple jump this season. He broke the indoor record with a mark of 16.03m at the Texas Tech Shootout and the outdoor record with a mark of 16.30m at the Air Force Twilight Open.

Three Bears earned the title of Big Sky Champions throughout the 2021-22 season in Welre Olivier, Craiesha Johnson, and Qwazon Al-Khaliq.

Johnson earned her Big Sky Championship in the 400m hurdles, winning the race by an astounding 7/10,000ths of a second.

Regina Mpigchai set a school record in the indoor mile with a lightning-fast time of 4:51.96 at the Gene Edmonds Invitational. It was one of two records she set during the indoor seaosn also breaking the 3000m mark with a time of 9:47.87.Â

Freshman Jerome Campbell broke his own record in the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.76 at the Air Force Invitational to hold the record for the fastest time in school history, not once but twice this season.

Four different Bears, Qwazon Al-Khaliq, Welre Olivier, Tyler Thimsen, and Jerome Campbell, all qualified for the NCAA West Regionals in their respective events.
