Northern Colorado played their first football game in 650 days when they took the field to kick off the 2021 season.

Sophomore David Hoage broke a school record of his own with the most sacks in a season in the Division 1 era, tabbing 10.5.
Â

Kicker Ben Raybon broke both the school and Nottingham Field record for the longest made field goal after beaming a perfect 57-yarder against Lamar.

Hoage led the Big Sky and ranked No. 3 in the NCAA thanks to his outstanding 22 tackles for a loss on the season. He also became UNC's first All-American since 2015.

Freshman punter Devin Bale wasted no time breaking records as a Bear with an 84-yard punt against Sacramento State.

Six different players received All-Big Sky Honors for their performances. David Hoage (Second Team), Grant Stephens (Second Team), Jerone Jackson (Third Team), Kassidy Woods (Honorable Mention), Jace Bobo (Honorable Mention), and Joe Golden (Honorable Mention) all made the list.

UNC won a total of three games during the 2021 season, marking the most wins in a season for the team since 2016.
