Sears Real Estate and UNC Athletics team up to feed, house Weld County residents in need

Sears Real Estate will donate $10 per point to each organization as part of the Points for Charity promotion.
Greeley, Colo.- UNC Athletics has teamed up with Northern Colorado's preeminent real estate company, Sears Real Estate, to make a positive impact on the community through support of Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity and Weld Food Bank via a Points for Charity promotion throughout the 2021 Bears football season.
For every point scored during the 2021 football season, Sears Real Estate will make a $10 donation each to Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity and Weld Food Bank.
Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity is part of the leading nonprofit housing organization in the country. Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity id dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions. Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity relies on volunteers to utilize financial and material contributions. In addition to partnering with Sears Real Estate on the Points for Charity promotion, UNC Athletics teams including football, women's basketball, volleyball and wrestling volunteered on site during the summer of 2021.Â
Weld Food Bank is a non-profit organization aimed at alleviating hunger and poverty by providing food and services to people in need. Part of the Feeding America, the largest charitable hunger-relief organization in the country, Weld Food Bank provided over 14.6 million pounds of food to the hungry in Weld County last year alone.

Through just two games this season, Points for Charity has netted each of the non-profits a donation of $520. The promotion makes its in-stadium debut this Saturday at UNC's home opener versus Lamar at 2p.m. at Nottingham Field. Tickets are available on-line at UNCBears.com/tickets.
