Northern Colorado named Clayton Sikorski the new Director of Golf
GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado Athletics welcomes Clayton Sikorski as the Director of Golf. Sikorski will oversee both the men's and women's programs for the Bears. He comes to UNC after a pair of successful stints as a Director of Golf and spending the last two years at Grand Canyon University as an assistant for the men's golf team.
"We are excited to welcome Clayton, Brittany and Hudson to the UNC family. His proven success as the Director of Golf at two previous universities really stood out to us during our search," said Director of Athletics Darren Dunn. "He grew up around the game and comes from a great golf family. That has led him to make great connections in the golf world both in the US and internationally. We look forward to Clayton's ability to provide both our men's and women's programs with a great student-athlete experience."
During Sikorski's time at GCU, the Lopes had two medalist winners, five top-5 team finishes, two All-WAC award winners and a pair of runner-up finishes at the WAC Championships.
'I am extremely humbled and grateful for the tremendous opportunity to be named as the Director of Golf at the University of Northern Colorado," said Sikorski. "UNC is a fantastic institution and I cannot wait to meet the teams and get started!'
Sikorski has earned numerous coaching awards, including the GSAC Coach of the Year, a Dave Williams NAIA National Coach of the Year finalist and NAIA GCAA Western Region Coach of the Year.
He started the men's and women's golf programs at Ottawa University, located in Surprise, Ariz, in 2017.
His Ottawa teams won four events and finished outside the top-5 just once in 11 tournaments in 2018-19. Sikorski coached the NCCAA National Christian College champion and an NAIA All-American Second-Team player at Ottawa. Additionally, OUAZ was ranked as high as No. 5 in the NAIA and won the GSAC Conference Championship by 35 strokes.
Before his time in Arizona, Sikorski was the head men's and women's coach at Oklahoma Wesleyan University. While at OKWU, the men's team reached No. 14 in the NAIA Coaches Top-25 Poll.
Sikorski graduated from OKWU in 2014 and earned a Master of Business Administration degree in 2016. He played on the golf team for four years and earned MCAC All-Conference honors twice.
Sikorski along with his wife Brittany and son Hudson will make their way to Greeley.
