Swim and Dive signs 10 to 2021 class

GREELEY, Colo. – Following one of its best seasons in program history, Northern Colorado Swimming and Diving has another reason to celebrate. Head coach Lisa Ebeling has announced the signing of 10 athletes who will join the program this fall.
The 2021 class of recruits includes eight swimmers and two divers with a wealth of experience in the United States and on the international level up and down the roster.
"I am incredibly excited about the dynamic of our incoming class," said Ebeling. "These girls are all exceptional students, athletes, and people and they will bring a wealth of diversity along with a new competitive spirit to our program. The future of the Bears Swimming and Diving has never looked more promising and I can't wait to have everyone together on campus in the fall!"
Zoe Gawronska | The Woodlands, Texas
Zoe Gawronska makes her way to Northern Colorado with a pit stop at Auburn. With the Tigers, not only did Gawronska hold NCAA B cuts in the 500 free and 400 IM but she was also a CSCAA Scholar All-American and member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
Born in Omaha, Nebraska Zoe holds citizenship in both the United States and in Poland. She finished third at the Polish Nationals and has qualified in five separate events for the Olympic Trials.
Prior to her time in Alabama, Gawronska captained her swim team to a third-place finish at the Texas State Championships. Meanwhile, Zoe graduated with an impressive 3.7 GPA.
Gawronska plans to major in Human Services at UNC.
She chose to join the Bear family over Florida State, Ohio State, Hawaii, Nebraska, FGCU, Fresno State, Arizona State, Arizona, Texas A&M and Missouri.
Hannah Kingscote | Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada
Hannah arrives in Greeley by way of Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada. A graduate of F.H. Collins Secondary School, Kingscote was a standout in both in and out of the pool. Captaining both the swim and volleyball teams, Hannah led her school to a senior triple crown championship. She was also awarded volleyball team MVP.
In the classroom, Kingscote has been a member of the Honor Roll since the eighth grade.
Once on campus, Hannah plans to major in Sports and Exercise Science.
Kingscote chose Northern Colorado over South Dakota State and UNLV.
Bryanna Ungs | La Center, Wash.
A four-year letterwinner a La Center High School in La Center, Washington, Bryanna Ungs will be bringing her talents to Butler Hancock Swimming Pool.
Not only was Ungs a standout individually, but she was also voted by her teammates as "Most Inspirational" and "Most Improved."
Out of the pool, Bryanna secured the highest GPA in her high school and was a member of the Honor Roll.
Ungs chose UNC over Indiana State, West Florida and Washington State.
Once in Greeley, Bryanna plans to major in Nursing.
Elizabeth Mayer | Salt Lake City, Utah
Another two-sport athlete, Elizabeth Mayer excelled in both tennis and swimming. On the court, Mayer picked up one letter and racked up four more in the pool.
A freestyle specialist, Mayer holds school records in both the 200 and 500-yard events. Individually, she sped to a 200 free Utah State Championships while her 400 free relay team placed second.
Mayer was a member of the honor roll all four years at East High and will look to major in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Cell and Molecular Biology at UNC.
Elizabeth was also recruited by Delta State.
Gracie Moreland | Rocky Ford, Colo.
Colorado native Gracie Moreland will be making the short trek up to Greeley from Rocky Ford. An athlete by every definition, Moreland lettered in four different sports in high school (Swimming, Volleyball, Track & Field and Basketball).
In the pool, Gracie boasted top finishes in the 100 back and 100 free, qualifying for the Colorado State Finals on three separate occasions. She also holds the Ja Hunta Pool record.
Moreland was near perfect in the classroom as well. Securing a 4.0 GPA, Gracie was Valedictorian of Rocky Ford High School was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America and was elected STUCO President.
At Northern Colorado, she'll pursue a degree in nursing.
Gracie chose UNC over Colorado Mesa where her sister Emily is currently on the Swim and Dive team.
Madison Berg | River Falls, Wisc.
One of two divers joining the Northern Colorado squad, Madison Berg turned heads both in the pool and in gymnastics.
A four-time letterwinner in both sports, Berg qualified for the Wisconsin State Championships in diving four times, was a four-time All-State member, a three-time sectional champ, three-time team captain, voted team MVP four times and holds the current high school record.
In gymnastics, Madison was a three-time state qualifier, awarded First Team All-State four times, earned four All-Conference awards and was a three-time sectional champ.
Once in Greeley, Berg plans on majoring in Sports and Exercise Science with an emphasis in Human Performance.
She chose Northern Colorado over UW Green Bay, Southern Illinois, Iowa State, UNC Ashville, CSU Pueblo and the University of Jamestown.
Vega Stamatien | Groton, Conn.
The second diver in this recruiting class, Vega will travel all the way from Groton, Connecticut to find a home in Greeley.
A letterwinner at Robert E. Fitch High School, Stamatiem is coming off a second-place finish in the Eastern Connecticut Conference. Vega was also awarded the team's most improved athlete and picked up an Academic Letter in the classroom as well.
Stamatien plans to pursue a degree in Audiology and Speech Pathology when she arrives on campus.
Kennedy Eichler | Litchfield Park, Ariz.
From the Sun Valley to Northern Colorado, Kennedy Eichler brings an impressive resume to the Bears program. A four-time letterwinner, Eichler's Verrado High School went undefeated during her time there and won the district championships in 2019.
Individually, the four-time letterwinner was voted the team MVP and secured three academic letters.
The Litchfield Park, Arizona native will major in Pre-Heath Biomedical Sciences once she gets to campus.
She chose UNC over Southern Illinois, Western Colorado, and UW Green Bay.
Emma Clark | Cedar Falls, Iowa
Emma Clark heads west from Cedar Falls, Iowa to join the Northern Colorado program this Fall. Another two-sport athlete, Clark lettered in track and field as well as swimming.
A frequent state championship qualifier, Clark is coming off a fifth-place finish in the 50 free and already boasts several swims sub 24.00.
Clark chose UNC over Iowa State and North Texas.
Giulia Pavanello | Venice, Italy
An experienced swimmer on the international scene, Guilia Pavanello will make her way to Northern Colorado from Venice, Italy.
Providing an immediate and significant impact on the UNC program, Pavanello specializes in mid-distance freestyle and butterfly. She has already secure multiple top-10 finishes at the Italian National Championships.
Guilia plans on studying Political Science once she arrives in Greeley.
