ST. GEORGE, Utah – The 2021 Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimming and Diving Championships officially got underway with two events on Thursday evening.

The team of Madelyn Moore, Chelaine van de Westhuizen, Katelyn Bergin and Saana Liikonen were neck and neck with the 'Lopes coming down the stretch. Ultimately, the Bears hit was the wall at 1:41.48, just .30 second behind GCU but the fastest time of the year for UNC.
Entering a busy day two, Northern Colorado sits in third place with 64 points, just eight behind Northern Arizona and Grand Canyon who both have 72 after the first day.
DECK TALK
Lisa Ebeling, Head Coach
"Our races tonight are a good sign that we are ready for a great meet. The girls look strong and fast across the board, and sitting in third place after the first night is right where we need to be."
