FARMINGTON, Utah – Helping Northern Colorado solidify its first regular-season title since 2011, Lexi Pulley's performance against Weber State and Idaho State have earned the senior Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.
Falling behind in both contests, the veteran leadership of Pulley proved pivotal on both Sunday and Tuesday.
The Laramie native never panicked against the Wildcats Sunday afternoon, providing two assists, the last of which tied the game at three in the 68th minute. Fifteen minutes later, Pulley's header gave the Bears a much-needed victory.
Pulley somehow delivered an even more impressive performance against Idaho State than her four-point effort two days earlier.
With the match tied at two at the midway point, Pulley netted two second-half goals in the span of fewer than two minutes to solidify UNC's win over the Bengals and secure Northern Colorado's first-ever outright regular-season title.
It's the third time this season Pulley has captured the honor. She previously won the award after her two goals against Colorado College and again for her performances against Sacramento State and Portland State.
Northern Colorado hosts the Big Sky Championships (Nov. 3-7) at Jackson Stadium. The No. 1 seeded Bears earn a first-round bye and will match up against the winner of Weber State and Idaho on Friday, November 5, at 2 p.m. MT.
