Anna Austin awarded WAC Swimmer of the Week

DENVER, Colo. – Anna Austin has been a beast in the pool all season long for the Bears. Tuesday morning, her efforts were rewarded as the Western Athletic Conference awarded the junior with the Women's Swimmer of the Week honors.
Austin made a habit out of touching the wall first in Saturday's dual against Denver. The Arvada, Colorado, native swept 1,000 and 500 free with times of 10:36.16 and 5:10.01 at altitude. Austin also took home the 200 fly with a 2:07.92, just .16 off her season-best time.
To cap off UNC's last home meet of the season, Austin swam the third leg of the 400 free relay, paving the way to her fourth in four tries on the evening.
Austin's accomplishment marks the second time Northern Colorado has picked up Swimmer of the Week honors. Madelyn Moore previously won the award on January 12.
The Bears cruised past Denver and have now won seven straight duals.
Colorado State remains the lone in-state team Northern Colorado has yet to beat head-to-head. The two rivals will go toe-to-toe on February 5, in a dual set for 5 p.m. MT.
