Chorba named head cheer coach

UNC Athletics welcomes Steve Chorba as the new head cheer coach for the Bears.Â
Chorba brings a wide range of cheer experience to Greeley. Most recently, he served as an assistant coach at the Big 10's Illinois following an international stint as the sport manager for the Norwegian Cheerleading Foundation.Chorba also spent time as the interim head coach at The Ohio State University for the 2013-14 season and the head coach at Illinois State from 2010 to 2013. Since 1998, he's been an active head instructor and staff member with the Universal Cheerleaders Association traveling nationwide coordinating and coaching at camps as well as training staff, coaches and athletes in all aspects of cheerleading skills and gameday presentation.
Chorba is a native of Evanston, Illinois earned degrees from DePaul University and the University of Louisville. He currently resides in Fort Collins.
2019-20 tryouts are set for Saturday, July 6 at 10am with a pre-tryout clinic scheduled for June 25. For complete tryout information, click here.
