Brockmann Named Big Sky Player of the Week

Emma Brockmann had an impressive slash line in the four games this past week
OGDEN, UT- After a phenomenal week at the plate, Emma Brockmann was named Big Sky Player of the Week. Brockmann earns her first career weekly award after becoming a key power hitter in UNC's batting order.
The Beaverton, Ore. native hit a staggering .600 in four games this past week, with a .867 slugging percentage and a .625 on-base percentage.
Brockmann recorded multi-hit games in each of the Bears match ups, capped off with a three-hit performance in the series finale against Southern Utah.
Brockmann hit her third home run of the season in the second game against the Thunderbirds; a two run blast in the first inning. Brockmann recorded seven RBIs in the four games and also had one double. Behind the plate, Brockmann was solid with 12 putouts and no errors.
Since conference play began, Brockmann has elevated her game, batting .438 in 11 games.
Overall this season, Brockmann leads the team in batting average(.314), slugging percentage(.500), on-base percentage(.366) and doubles(8). Brockmann is also tied for the team lead in home runs(3) and RBIs(17).
Montana senior pitcher Colleen Driscoll was named pitcher of the week. Valerie Vidal was nominted for pitcher of the week as well.Â
