UNC football hosts its final scrimmage and UNC Athletics hosts Bears Bash on Saturday at Nottingham
GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado football sets for its scrimmage before the 2018 season kicks off next Saturday at Nottingham Field against McNeese State. The Bears look to solidify the depth chart during Saturday's action that will take place along with Family Fest & Bears Bash. The final scrimmage of the preseason will start at 8:45 am and Family Fest & Bears Bash begins at 10 am, both inside Nottingham Field.
Things to Watch For
Solidifying the Depth Chart
Similar to the final preseason game of the season in the NFL, the final scrimmage of the college football preseason is for filling out the depth chart. While the first two units will see a series or two Saturday, it is all about earning a spot on the travel roster.
Putting It All Together
Northern Colorado looks to put together a complete scrimmage on Saturday after the offense reigned supreme at the first and defense threw around its weight in the second. Having completed fall camp the team looks to be put together now and complement each other going into the first game of the season.
First Time in Nottingham
For the veterans, it will be old news playing on the grass of Nottingham Field, but for the newcomers, it's their first time to step foot and play in Nottingham. Coaches will be looking to see how they react to the situation in their final formal evaluation of the 2018 roster.
Family Fest & Bears Bash
While there will be action on the field, there will also be plenty to do off it as well with Family Fest & Bears Bash put on by UNC Athletics and the Greeley Tribune. Bring the whole family to the scrimmage and stay after for bounce houses, face painting, food and plenty more fun at Nottingham Field!
