@UNC_TrackField Stays In-State for CU Invite

Greeley, Colo. – After a successful performance by the Bears at the Tom Benich Invitational Meet they head to Boulder, Colorado this weekend for the Colorado Invitational.
The Colorado Invitational begins on Saturday at 10 am with the women's hammer, men's shot put, men's and women's long jump, men's high jump, women's pole vault and 3000 meter steeplechase. The last scheduled event is at 5:35, however, this is subject to change based on how long all other events take throughout the day.
The University of Colorado at Boulder Potts Track is located on the East side of campus at the intersection of Innovation Drive and Discovery Drive. The entrance to Potts Track is located on the southwest corner of the facility, and there will be an $8 admission fee for all spectators.
Last Weekend- The women's team ended up taking second place, behind CSU, as the men took third place, behind CSU and Wyoming.
UNC had strong results from last weekend's meet, and they are looking to see those result roll into this upcoming meet as well.
The women's 4 X100 relay team has put together strong performances the past couple weeks, and last weekend finished in first place beating Colorado State by 1.79 seconds.
With Alex Wesley, Kyle Thomas, and Antonie Coates taking the top three places in the 400 meter dash, the men's 4 X 100 team taking first, and Shalise Fernander also placing first for the 400 meter dash for the women. UNC is now looking to achieve more than what they did last weekend in Boulder this upcoming weekend.
What Is Coming Up- With being away this weekend, the Bears can also look forward to being back at home next weekend for the NOCO Challenge on April 14th.
After the NOCO Challenge, the Bears have three more meets until the Big Sky Conference Outdoor Championships May 8th- May 11th. Those who advance will go to the NCAA Outdoor Regionals in California and then onto the Championship in Oregon.
Northern Colorado currently has a few athletes ranked near the top of Big Sky Conference rankings going into upcoming meets.
Alex Wesley is currently in the national top 20 for his converted time of 46.80 in the 400m.
For the Big Sky Conference men's outdoor track and field rankings, for the 100m dash Alex Mead ranks 9th in the 100m dash, and Demetrius Graves ranks 15th. For the 200m dash, Alex Wesley is ranked 2nd, as well as five other guys in the top 25. Wesley, Kyle Thomas, and Antoine Coates are in the first three spots for the 400m dash. Evan Keely ranks 2nd for the 800m dash.
For the Big Sky Conference women's side, Kelsi, Schuetz ranked 2nd for the 200m dash, Cammy Sargent ranked 1st for the 800m run, Semaye Johnson ranked 2nd for the 100m hurdles, and the women's 4 X 100m relay team ranked 3rd.
