The dual started off at 125-lbs with Trey Andrews losing to No. 4 Josh Rodriguez 13-4. At 133-lbs, Rico Montoya lost as well, by a score of 8-3 to Cam Sykora. This put UNC in a 7-0 hole to start the dual.
No. 18 Box registered another major decision, in addition to remaining undefeated in duals so far this year (3-0). With a 13-3 win over Tyler, Box brought the Bears within striking distance, trailing the Bison 7-4.
Northern Colorado dropped the next two matches, with [157] Ben Polkowske losing via technical fall, and [157] Tyler Kinn losing via decision. This pushed the Bison's lead to 16-4 over the Bears.

The Bears could not keep pace with the Bison down the stretch as Northern Colorado dropped three out of the last four matches, with the only remaining win coming at 184 lbs, from Gabel.
