Marissa Hughes set the standard for Northern Colorado Volleyball from 2009-12, stepping into the starting lineup immediately her freshman year, and helping UNC to three conference tournament titles and two regular season titles. Her impact was immediate as she set a Division I program season record with 1,384 assists during her freshman year. By the conclusion of her time at UNC she had recorded a UNC DI-record 4,877 assists. Hughes ranks fourth in the DI record book with 74 serving aces. She earned second team All-Big Sky honors her freshman through junior years, and first team her senior season. Hughes was a four-time Big Sky All-Academic team selection.
