Bears Set for 2025 WAC Championships

UNC Looks to Build on Last Years Fourth Place Finish
GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado swimming & diving will compete at the 2025 WAC Championships at the CRWC Natatorium on Feb. 26 – March 1.
Admission to the meet is free. All information, including schedules, can be found on the 2025 WAC Swimming & Diving Championships page.
Competing alongside the Bears are Cal Baptist, GCU, Seattle U, UNLV, Idaho, NM State, Northern Arizona, UTRGV, and Utah Tech.
Competition begins Wednesday with the women's 3-meter event, followed by the 200-yard and 800-yard relays, and concludes with the 3-meter finals. Thursday features simultaneous swimming and diving events, including the 1-meter dive, 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley (IM), 50 freestyle, 200 freestyle relay finals, 500 freestyle finals, 200 IM finals, and 50 freestyle finals.
Friday morning kicks off with the 100 butterfly, 400 IM, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, and 100 backstroke, wrapping up with the platform dive. The evening session will showcase finals for the 100 butterfly, 400 IM, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, and the 400 medley relay.
The championships conclude Saturday with the 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, and 1650 freestyle, followed by the finals for those events, senior recognition, and team trophy presentations.
The Bears head into the Championships ranked fifth in duals in the conference and fourth in championships. Top athletes looking to earn a spot on the podium are Ellyson Lombardi, Kyra Rabess, Maria Erokhina, and Madison Berg.
At last year's championships, the Bears earned two first-place medals, four second-place finishes, and three third-place finishes, totaling nine podium appearances.
UP NEXT
Northern Colorado will turn its sights on NCAA and CSCAA competitions. The NCAA Zone E Diving. Championships will take place March 10-12 followed by the CSCAA Championships on March 13-15 and the NCAA Championships on March 19-22.
