The University of Northern Colorado is excited to welcome Ryan Ronan as its new Director of Strategic Communications.
"It is a thrill to be a member of the Bear family," said Ronan. "Working at the Division 1 level has always been a goal of mine and to get my first opportunity at a school like UNC and in a community like Greeley is almost too good to be true."
Ronan has a diverse background in sports media. Most recently he served as the Sports Information Director at Ranger College in Ranger, Texas. During his time, he brought the school into the digital age by starting multiple social media accounts and overseeing the redesign of the athletic website.
Prior to working at Ranger College, Ronan was the sports editor at the Kerrville Daily Times when the publication was honored as the best Class B sports section of the year by the Texas Press Association. Also, he worked as a radio color analyst during his time covering sports in the Texas Hill Country.
Before returning to Texas, Ronan worked in North Central Missouri covering Truman State University in both print and TV. During his time as sports editor at the Kirksville Daily Times, the paper was recognized as the Class 2 publication of the year by Gatehouse Media.
Ronan graduated from Oakland University in Rochester, MI, but had previously attended Mesa State College where he played football for two seasons. He played multiple sports in junior college before transferring to what is now Colorado Mesa University.
