FOR THE WEEK OF SEPT. 5-11
Football (1-0, 0-0 Big Sky)
This Week:Â The football team will take its first road trip in upcoming back-to-back weeks heading to Texas to take on Abilene Christian on Sept. 10 at 5:00 p.m. (MT).
Last Week:Â The Bears opened the 2016 with a win over Rocky Mountain College 56-27. The running back corps had a great day combining for six of the eight TDs scored in the game.
Need to Know:Â UNC and ACU will meet in a rematch of the 2015 season finale in Greeley where the Bears edged the Wildcats 40-36.
Good to Know: The 56 points scored against Rocky Mountain College tied the program's Division I single game scoring record that the Bears set in 2015 against UC Davis, when they defeated the Aggies 56-27.

Men's GolfÂ
This Week:Â The 2016 men's golf season officially gets underway this Tuesday, Sept. 6 in Holyoke, Colorado at the Ballyneal Challenge hosted by the University of Colorado. The team will also compete in the Gene Miranda Falcon Invite, hosted by Air Force on Sunday, Sept. 11.
Last Season:Â Northern Colorado finished in fourth place at the 2016 Big Sky Championships and returns three of the five players that competed in the Championship, including All-Big Sky honoree, Josh Matz, along with Eric Chen and Sam Marley.
Good to Know:Â UNC added three high profile recruits to its roster in the offseason, including two from Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. The new faces on the roster are Coby Welch, Phillip Lee and Drew Karren. Both Welch and Lee come from Valor Christian, while Karren hails from Orinda, California.Â
Need to Know:Â The Bears will once again have a challenging spring schedule with trips to Hawaii and California to compete in the John Burns Invite and The Goodwin, hosted by Stanford.
Women's Soccer (4-2-1, 0-0 Big Sky)
This Week: Women's Soccer will have just one game this week on Thursday, Sept. 8 at Denver. The game is slated for a  7:00 p.m. start. The game will be broadcasted live on TV on Altitude.
Last Week:Â The Bears split last week's matches defeating Drexel at home 1-0, before falling in a tough road match at Grand Canyon, 1-0.
Need to Know:Â Keeper, Madeline Burdick combined for 14 saves and allowed just one goal in UNC's 1-1 split last week. For the season, Burdick now has 27 saves and two shutouts.
Good to Know:Â Sophomore Mariel Guttierez currently leads the team in shots, shots on goal, assists and goals scored. She has produced three goals, two assists and has 18 shots with 14 of them being on goal.

Women's Volleyball (3-3, 0-0 Big Sky)
This Week:Â The volleyball team will make a quick pit stop in Greeley to host Denver (Sept.7) before hitting the road to compete in another tournament, this time in California. The Bears will play in the Pacific Community Classic and face South Dakota, Pacific and Oregon State over Sept. 9 and 10.
Last Week:Â UNC split four games, going 2-2 over the course of the week. The team dropped a tough match at home against Colorado State (1-3) and then lost its opening match in the Barcelona Labor Day Classic to North Florida (1-3) down in Houston, Texas. The Bears rebounding nicely in the Lone Star state, picking up key wins over Houston Baptist (3-1) and Penn (3-0).Â
Need to Know:Â UNC had his best offensive match of the 2016 season hitting .402 as a team against Penn. It was also the first sweep of the season for Northern Colorado.
Good to Know: The home game against Denver will be broadcasted on TV thanks to Comcast Entertainment Television, which is exclusively through Comcast XFINITY. Also, single game tickets for the 2016 volleyball season have gone on sale and can be purchased here.
