Getting to know: Colby Riggins

GREELEY, Colo. – In the Northern Colorado football team's final two-a-day of the season, discipline was the word of the day.
The second definition of discipline on dictionary.com is “activity, exercise, or a regimen that develops or improves a skill; training.” The Bears need discipline both on and off the field to succeed in not only football, but life. The season opener for the team is now just 17 days away and the Bears have just two practices remaining before the start of school on Aug. 22.
To celebrate the quickly approaching 2011 season, each practice prior to school starting uncbears.com will be highlighting a different senior on the roster. Each senior will be asked a series of questions and then those same questions will be asked to a roommate or friend on the team, as well as another player of the same position to test how well they know each other.
Senior defensive back Colby Riggins, from Littleton, has played in 32 of the team's 34 games during his career. A year ago, he started in the first seven games and ended with 39 tackles for the season. Riggins put together a stretch of five-straight games with at least five tackles in 2010 and tallied a career-best eight against eventual national champion Eastern Washington.
After the second practice of the day, roommate Lee Barbiasz and fellow defensive back Elliott Dorsey were polled to see how well they know Riggins off the field.

For the third-straight night, a teammate correctly matched 6-of-15 answers to tie for the season-high as Dorsey doubled up Barbiasz.
