Hut, Hut, Hike! Sights and Sounds from the Spring Game
4/24/2022
Northern Colorado Football concluded its spring season on a breezy Saturday afternoon with the defense edging the offense 17-13. Head Coach Ed McCaffrey and his staff had their first normal spring since taking over the program in December of 2019 and saw a lot of good improvement out from the squad.
I thought we had a great spring! I am proud of the way the guys came out and competed each day pushing each other to get better. We are building something special here at UNC.Head Coach Ed McCaffrey
Starting quarterback Dylan McCaffrey played just one series for the Bears, but it was a good one ending in a 14-yard touchdown pass to CSU transfer Kyle Helbig. Devin Bale added in a pair of late field goals for the offense.
The defense looked like it was in 2021 form making plays all over the field led by returning All-American David Hoage and All-Big Sky honoree Joe Golden. While turnovers were few and far between they continuously put points on the board by making the stop when they needed to.
Northern Colorado now awaits the start of the 2022 season when they host Houston Baptist on September 3 against Houston Baptist. For season ticket information visit UNCBears.com of call 970-351-4849.
