UNC men's basketball rolled past Weber State 70-52 Saturday Night
GREELEY – Northern Colorado dominated Weber State from the opening tip and never looked back in a 70-52 win Saturday night. The Bears led by as much as 27 in the game and never trailed.
The win moves UNC to 14-7 for the season and 7-3 in the Big Sky.
It was the paint where Northern Colorado did most of its damage as they outscored the Wildcats 44-16. The duo of Kur Jockuch and Kai Edwards combined for 29 points on 14-of-17 shooting.
UNC used an 11-2 run near the middle of the first half to gain all the separation they needed from Weber State to go up by 10.
The Bears offense was clicking on all cylinders in the first half as they shot 60.7 percent and held a 26-2 advantage in the paint. They led by the score of 36-21 at the break.
An early 7-0 run capped off by a Jonah Radebaugh 3-pointer put the end to any WSU hopes of a comeback as the Bears took a 22 point lead at that point and made it 27 by the mid-way point.
What They Said
Head Coach Jeff Linder
"It was a great effort by the guys in their fourth game in eight days. I was a little worried coming into the game about how our energy was going to be. From the start, they did a great job and set the tone. I challenged Kur and Kai based on our last game to step up. They had to meet the challenge with Michal Kozak after he kicked our tail at their place this year. The way the guys played tonight helps us moving forward. We had good looks tonight from three but missed them and to have the type of lead we had because of the way Kur and Kai played was big."
Stat of the Game
Northern Colorado did anything they wanted inside the paint Saturday night scoring 44 points from the area. It's the second-most points in the paint this season for UNC behind their 46 against Colorado College.
Game Notes
- Jonah Radebaugh once again had a big night for the Bears. He led the team in points (19), assists (8) rebounds (7) and steals (4). He was unconscious from behind the arc going 5-for-6.
- Radebaugh not only played well offensively but showed why he's a two-time Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year holding Weber State's Jerrick Harding to 13 points to end his streak of five games of scoring 20-plus.
- Kur Jockuch matched his career-high with 16 points on Saturday. He added in fiver rebounds a steal and block.
- This is the first time Northern Colorado has ever swept its two games against Weber State in a season.

The three other home teams won their games on Saturday in Northern Arizona, Montana and Southern Utah.

He's already the 2⃣x Defensive Player of the Year. Plays like this from @Radebaugh12 will make it 3⃣ times. #GoUNCBears🐻🏀 #BigSkyMBB pic.twitter.com/GVNBTaYvTp
