2006 Big Sky Conference Championships

This Meet
The University of Northern Colorado men's and women's cross country teams travel to California to participate in the Big Sky Conference Championships. The starting time is 10 a.m. for the men and 11 a.m. for the women.
Last Time Out
Denise Kintzley finished 10th in a field of 97 runners to lead the Northern Colorado women's cross country team to a 5th place finish at the Fort Hays State Tiger Invitational Saturday.
Kintzley's time of 19:25.94 was just ahead of teammate Katie Wiederholt's 19:42.96, which was good for 13th. Other Northern Colorado finishers were: Colleen Sanderlin (34, 20:22.53); Kellie Callahan (41, 20:45.21); Allison McIntire (44, 20:47.10) and Erin Apsey (52, 21:17.10).
Charles Hillig Jr. led the men's team to a 7th place finish with his time of 26:49.37, which was good for 14th individually.
Other Northern Colorado men's runners were: Michael Trahan (27, 27:24.98); Jeff Holt (30, 27:31.97); Alex Grim (48, 28:11.10); Shawn Monk (70, 29:37.12); Ryan Woodman (73, 29:44.42) and Jorel Torres (31:44.91).
New Program
This is the first year of competition for the men's team after the program became dormant following the 1983 season.
With Northern Colorado officially becoming a member of the Big Sky Conference on July 1, the Department of Athletics had to add each men's cross country and men's and women's indoor track and field as programs.
