GREELEY, Colo. - The Utah Valley State Wolverines took down the Providence Friars in three straight games on Friday with scores of 30-20, 30-18 and 30-26 at the University of Northern Colorado in Division I Independent Championships action.
Utah Valley State (16-11) is the No. 1 seed after going 3-0 in Pool B and will face the loser of the Northern Colorado/IPFW match tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. at Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion.
The Wolverines' Jessica Endres had a match-high 13 kills, while teammate Lacee Koellicker recorded a match-high 36 assists. UVSC did not let up on Providence as the Wolverines forced the Friars to a .110 hitting percentage.
The Friars' Annie Fiorvanti notched 18 assists in the losing effort.
Providence (6-27) dropped to 0-3 in Pool B and will play Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 8 a.m. on Saturday at Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion.
