Women's Tennis Falls on Windy Day, 4-3
March 31, 2007
GREELEY, Colo. - On an afternoon where wind was a major issue, the University of Northern Colorado women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 Big Sky Conference match to Montana State at the Butler-Hancock Tennis Courts.
"The weather was good until doubles ended," said Bears head coach Brenda Vlasak. Once the wind started, "everyone's match was affected, but I think that the more mentally tough team did not let the wind affect their play as much."
The Bears (4-11) got wins from Tabatha Knop at No. 1 (6-4, 5-7, 6-1), Meredith Krystofik at No. 2 (6-2, 6-3) and Tiffany Knop at No. 5 (4-6, 7-6, 6-4).
Northern Colorado continues its season-ending home stand on April 6 against Wyoming.
