Vlasak announces addition of two for 2013

GREELEY – Northern Colorado Women’s Tennis Head Coach Brenda Vlasak today announced the addition of two players to her roster for the 2013-14 season.

Vlasak and assistant coach Mandy Preuss are also pleased to welcome Marissa Baca to the Bears’ tennis family.

"We are extremely excited about the addition of Beth Coton and Marissa Baca to our program,” Vlasak said. “They are exactly the kind of players we want on our team and know they will fit in immediately.”

“Beth brings a ton of talent and heavy strokes that will be a force to reckon with,” Vlasak said. “We are looking forward to working with her to help her reach the next level as a tennis player and we know she's someone who will fit right in with our players and our staff.”

Marissa Baca, 5-6, Tucson, Arizona (Ironwood Ridge)
Baca is a three-time letterwinner at Ironwood Ridge and enters her senior season as the number one singles and doubles player… Is a three-time team captain as well as the three-time Player of the Year… She has also been named one of the top 100 athletes for Southern Arizona in each of the last three years… Is a two-time Scholar-Athlete award winner and a member of the National Honor Society… Helped lead the Nighthawks to the 5A state title a year ago, playing in the finals of the doubles competition… She also won the doubles title as a freshman and reached the finals as a sophomore.
