First place finish for Bears in Florida

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla.-- The University of Northern Colorado swimming & diving team posted a first place finish out of 18 schools at the 2008 College Swim Coaches Bob Mowerson Meet with 225 points in the long course. Illinois-Chicago finished second with 204 points.
Junior Krista Griffin and freshman Lindsey Mast finished first and second in the 50 breaststroke with times of 37.66 and 38.46 seconds, respectively. Nan Liu posted a first place finish in the 50 freestyle with a time of 27.66 seconds.
Other top finishes included a third place finish in the 50 butterfly by sophomore Becca Getz with a time of 31.75 seconds and a third place finish in the 100 freestyle by Dawn Adams with a time of 1:04.74.
In the Ocean Roughwater Swim Whitney Dahms finished first in the junior class with a time of 24:25 minutes. In the sophomore class Getz finished sixth with a time of 25:39 minutes. Mast also finished sixth in the freshman class with a time of 25:34 minutes.
The Bears next stop will be at the North Florida Hall of Fame Dual on January 9th.
