Aimee Dunavant joins the Northern Colorado swimming & diving coaching staff in April, 2010 as the assistant swimming coach. Dunavant comes to the Bears from Evansville, where she served in the same role for the past two years.

While at Evansville, the Purple Aces had nine named to both the All-Missouri Valley Conference team and nine All-MVC Scholar Athletes. She assisted in recruiting and managed the team’s travel, as well as other day-to-day office duties.

Prior to Evansville, Dunavant was the head swim coach at the Kirtland Aquatic Club in Albuquerque, where she had 12 state qualifiers and she handled the training schedule for swimmers ages 12 and higher.

She was also the head swim coach at Valley High School in Albuquerque from 2006-08, coaching two individuals and six relays who qualified for the New Mexico State Championships.

Dunavant was a four-year letterwinner for the New Mexico Lobos, serving as team captain from 2003-05. She was named to the All-Mountain West Conference Team in the 100 and 200 butterfly. Dunavant earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from New Mexico in 2006.
