Schmeckpeper-Cook named MPSF athlete of the week

Northern Colorado senior diver Kelly Schmeckpeper-Cook was awarded the Mountain-Pacific Sports Federation female athlete of the week for swimming & diving, the league announced Wednesday.

Schmeckpeper-Cook broke the Northern Colorado three-meter diving record, winning the event at the Colorado State dual with 302.63 points and also posting an NCAA Zone 'E' qualifying standard. As she has done throughout the season, she also won the one-meter board with a point total of 285.53.

This is the first weekly award for the junior and the third for the Bears this season as freshman Courtney Van Oost has also been named twice.
