Aggies come out on top in Bears' final home meet
RESULTS: vs. New Mexico State
GREELEY, Colo. -- Northern Colorado's women's swimming and diving team claimed the first three spots in the 500-yard freestyle and the first two spots in the 100 breastroke against New Mexico State on Friday afternoon, Jan. 16, at Butler-Hancock Pool.
Those were the only events in which Bears swimmers came out on top, though. The Aggies claimed titles in the other 11 events and won 155-79 in the final home meet for Northern Colorado this season.
Alexis Glessner, Brogan Beyette and Nicole Wedel finished 1-2-3 in the 500 free for the Bears, and Whitney Dahms and Laurel Anderson were the top finishers in the 100 breastroke.
Northern Colorado claimed a pair of third-place team finishes.
The Bears foursome of Chesney Randolph, Amanda Donegan, Tori Gutt and JJ Smith finished third in the 400 medley relay, and the team of Donegan, Sam Leonard, Glessner and Dahms came in third in the 400 freestyle relay.
Northern Colorado will next swim tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 17, in a triangular meet against Air Force and Denver at Air Force. They'll then be off until Friday, Jan. 30, when they'll compete in the Air Force Diving Invitational.
