Hopkin Named Wrestler Of The Week

University of Northern Colorado heavyweight Reece Hopkin (Kersey, Colo./Platte Valley HS) has been named the Western Wrestling Conference's Wrestler of the Week as announced by league officials.

Hopkin, currently ranked 17th nationally, posted a perfect 3-0 record at the Northern Quadrangular, two by pins and one by a major decision to improve his season record to 11-1. Against North Dakota State, he posted a fall in 2:53 against Justin LaGosh, then had his second pin of the afternoon over top-ranked Minnesota's Joe Nord in 6:50. In the afternoon dual against Northern Illinois, Hopkin recorded a major decision, 10-0, against David Benner.

The Western Wrestling Conference is comprised of seven schools including the Air Force Academy, North Dakota State, UNC, UNI, South Dakota State, Utah Valley State and Wyoming.
