Northern Colorado Adds Prep Wrestler from Montana

University of Northern Colorado head wrestling coach Jack Maughan has signed Will Cusker, of Missoula, Mont., to a National Letter-of-Intent to wrestle for the Bears in 2005-06.

Cusker (133 lbs.) was a prep wrestler at Missoula High School for former Northern Colorado wrestling standout Lanny Bryant.

"Will comes highly recommended from Lanny Bryant," Maughan said. "He is one of the top wrestlers in the state of Montana."

Cusker tallied an overall record of 106-34 in high school. Cusker earned all-state honors three times as a prep wrestler. He was also a two-time state runner-up. He was a state champion in Greco-Roman and was a three-time state runner-up in freestyle competition. He was a four-time member of the Montana Freestyle National Team.

Cusker was selected his team's most valuable wrestler on three occasions in high school (2003, 2004, 2005).

Cusker is the fourth signee for the 2005-06 season. He joins Devan Lewis (Weatherford, Texas), Chase Walker (Morgan, Utah) and Tony Mustari (Greeley, Colo.) who have already signed to wrestle for Northern Colorado next season.
