True freshman Kenny Hashimoto (Thornton, Colo.) earned fifth-team all-rookie honors after posting a 19-3 record at 141 pounds. Hashimoto gained recognition after topping Pac-10 champion Juan Mora from Cal-State Fullerton in a dual match on Dec. 10 by the count of 8-6.
Hart, Hashimoto Named to Amateur Wrestling News All-Rookie Team
A pair of University of Northern Colorado freshmen wrestlers were recently named to the Amateur Wrestling News' All-Rookie team following the completion of the 2004-2005 season. The squad was released in the May issue of Amateur Wrestling News.
Redshirt freshman Shawn Hart (Loveland, Colo.) was named to the fourth-team at 174 pounds. Hart led the Bears in victories this season after tallying a 22-7 mark. Hart's list of accomplishments began after being named Outstanding Wrestler at the 2004 Old Chicago Northern Colorado Open on Nov. 21. Hart also notched a win over Fresno State's Chris Gifford, who was named to the all-rookie fourth team, in a dual on Jan. 29.
