Northern Colorado Scores 31-12 Dual Win at South Dakota State

BROOKINGS, S.D. -- Behind the strength of two pins and an injury default win, the University of Northern Colorado wrestling squad earned a 31-12 dual win over South Dakota State on Saturday.

The win improved the Bears' dual mark to 3-4 on the season, while North Dakota State dropped to 6-3 overall.

Freshman Blayze Bahe (125 lbs.) and redshirt freshman Shawn Hart (174 lbs.) each earned pin falls for the Bears against the Jackrabbits. Junior Mikell Surber was given an injury default victory at 157 pounds.

Freshman Kenny Hashimoto notched a major decision at 141 pounds to earn the Bears yet another bonus point in the dual.

Kyle Kaiser (133 lbs.), Cole Allison (184 lbs.) and Sam Safken (heavyweight) also earned decision victories over their SDSU opponents.

Northern Colorado will continue with its action later today as they travel to Fargo, N.D., to take on the North Dakota State Bison at 6:30 p.m. (Mountain).
