Mustari Defends Title At UNK Loper Open

KEARNEY, Neb. - A 20-second pin in the finals gave Northern Colorado junior 125-pounder Tony Mustari a tournament victory to successfully defend his title at the UNK Loper Open to highlight the day for the Bears.

Freshman Mitchell Polkowske took fourth place, while senior Daniel Prater placed sixth in the 149-pound weight class for the three placers on the day.

"We had a limited squad due to final examinations," said Head Coach Jack Maughan. "Tony had a nice day and defeated Andy Pokorny of Nebraska in the finals with the fastest pin of his career."

The Bears have the rest of the calendar year off from competition and return to the mat on January 3 at Nebraska where they compete against both the Huskers and Michigan.
