Wrestling Starts Season With 39-3 Loss To #18 Boise State

SPOKANE, Wash. - Playing in front of a neutral crowd in Washington, where there is no collegiate wrestling, the Northern Colorado wrestling team fell 38-3 to the 18th-ranked Boise State Broncos to start the 2008-09 season.

Junior 125-pounder Tony Mustari scored the squad's lone points, winning by a 1-0 decision over Brian Owen.

"We had six people, due to different circumstances, who have never wrestled in a college match before, and it looked like it," said Head Coach Jack Maughan. "We come back with plenty to work on, though Boise State is a very good team."

Northern Colorado competes in two weeks at the Cowboy Open, hosted by the University of Wyoming on Nov. 15.
