Rodriguez, Godfrey Lead Bears Women's Golf To Eighth

Northern Colorado senior Gina Rodriguez made a strong individual push on the second day of the Red Rocks Invitational women's golf tournament in Sedona, Ariz. Her 7-over-par 79 gave her a 160 two-day total, which left her in a three-way tie for 17th at the tournament hosted by Big Sky foe Northern Arizona University.

Rodriguez entered the day tied for 29th, with senior teammate Katie Avery, who finished tied for 38th with 166 two-day total.

As a team, Northern Colorado finished the tournament in eighth, right behind California State University-Northridge. The Bears team total (656) was one behind Northridge's (655).

Bears junior Shayna Godfrey had the team's second best individual finish, tying with five others for 25th with a 163 two-day total. She also shot a 79 on the tournament's second day.

Senior Jenny Henderson (167) and junior Heather Daviner (171) rounded out the Bears' individual scores.

Northern Colorado will next play on March 24 and 25 at the Anteater Invitational tournament hosted by UC Irvine, in Irvine, Calif.
