Big Sky and Great West Conferences Announce Academic Honors
Both the Big Sky and Great West Conferences recently announced their spring All-Academic teams and the University of Northern Colorado had a total of 32 student-athletes honored in the two leagues.

Nelson ends in fifth, women's golf fourth at Big Sky Championships
The Bears sat in fourth place after day one at the Big Sky Conference Championship, and they finished there Wednesday with 918 three-round team total at Ocotillo Golf Course. In a 45-person field, Northern Colorado had three finish in the top 20, including Ali Nelson, who finished her third round Wednesday with a 76 on the par 72 course and came in fifth with a three-round total of 224 (+8).

Nelson begins another charge at Big Sky tourney
Ali Nelson, the Big Sky's defending individual champion, charged up the leader board Tuesday during the second round of this year's Big Sky Conference Championship. Last season she was the first league freshman since 2005 to win a Big Sky individual title, and her 1-over-par 73 Tuesday at Ocotillo Golf Course has her in a tie for fourth at +3 overall (148). As a team, Northern Colorado is 18 strokes behind team leaders Portland State and Northern Arizona.

Women's golf sits in fourth at Big Sky Championship
Northern Colorado women's golf team sits in fourth place after the first round of play at the 2010 Big Sky Conference Golf Championship presented by Black Clover. Monday's first round at the Ocotillo Golf Resort in Chandler, Ariz., provided a host of low team and individual scores, and the Bears, with a 12-over-par 300 first-day total, sit just six strokes back of leader Northern Arizona (294).
