GREELEY, Colo. - The University of Northern Colorado women's basketball team was rated No. 59 in the latest Ratings Percentage Index, released on Monday. The rating is the highest in the program's history.

The Bears (3-2) scored a 65-55 victory over Big Ten opponent Illinois on Nov. 23. Northern Colorado also beat the Big East's Marquette on Nov. 25. Northern Colorado is in its third year of a four-year reclassification to Division I and is in just its second season of playing a full Division I schedule. Northern Colorado's rating puts them as the top public Division I women's basketball program in the state. The Bears' rating is also higher than any Big Sky team.

Northern Colorado will jump back into action at 7 p.m. on Friday against the Nevada Wolfpack from the Western Athletic Conference at the Nugget Classic in Reno, Nev. The Bears will take on either Gonzaga or Northwestern State at 2 or 4 p.m. on Saturday. Both games will be broadcast on The Bears Radio Network and can be accessed free of charge on UNCBears.com.
